چکیده

In present work ,a boiler turbine plant is presented as a 2x2 MIMO system with high multivariable interaction having two manipulated variables namely the governor valve position and the fuel flow rate and two control variables namely generated electric power and the steam pressure. The controller for this plant has been designed using conventional PID and MPC technique by first investigating the stability using Niederlinski index and interaction analysis using RGA recommendations for the selected plant. The decoupler is designed and its singular value analysis is performed. Closed loop step response is observed and compared to those of the composite MIMO system.

A coordinated MIMO control design for a power plant using improved sliding mode controller.

For the participation of the steam power plants in regulating the network frequency, boilers and turbines should be co-ordinately controlled in addition to the base load productions. Lack of coordinated control over boiler-turbine may lead to instability; oscillation in producing power and boiler parameters; reduction in the reliability of the unit; and inflicting thermodynamic tension on devic...

Boiler-Turbine Control System Design Using a Genetic Algorithm - Energy Conversion, IEEE Transactions on

Abstrac t This paper discusses the application of a genetic algorithm to control system design for a boiler-turbine plant. In particular we study the ability of the genetic algorithm to develop a proportional-integral (PI) controller and a state feedback controller for a non-linear multiinput/multi-output (MIMO) plant model. The plant model is presented along with a discussion of the inherent d...

Gain-scheduled ‘-optimal control for boiler-turbine dynamics with actuator saturation

This paper presents a gain-scheduled approach for boiler-turbine controller design. The objective of this controller design is to achieve tracking performance in the power output and drum pressure while regulating water level deviation. Also, the controller needs to take into account the magnitude and rate saturation constraints on actuators. The nonlinear boiler-turbine dynamics is brought int...

Temperature Control of Ultrasupercritical Once-through Boiler–turbine System Using Multi-input Multi-output Dynamic Matrix Control

Multi-input multi-output (MIMO) dynamic matrix control (DMC) technique is applied to control steam temperatures in a large-scale ultrasupercritical once-through boiler–turbine system. Specifically, four output variables (i.e., outlet temperatures of platen superheater, finish superheater, primary reheater, and finish reheater) are controlled using four input variables (i.e., two spray valves, b...
